Quantum Corp was founded in 1980. The Company provides storage, archive and data protection solutions for capturing, sharing, and preserving digital assets over the entire data lifecycle. Its customers include small businesses to enterprises. It provides solutions for storing and protecting information in physical, virtual and cloud environments. It works closely with a network of distributors, value-added resellers (VARs), direct marketing resellers (DMRs), original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and other suppliers to meet customers' needs. Its portfolio of solutions for scale-out storage environments includes StorNext software, appliances and full systems called StorNext Pro Solutions, and Lattus extended online storage and Q-Cloud Archive services. These solutions are designed to help customers manage large unstructured data sets in an information workflow, encompassing high-performance ingest, real-time collaboration, scalable processing, intelligent protection and high-value monetization. Lattus can also serve as a durable, self-protecting nearline storage tier in data center workflows. The Company also has a comprehensive portfolio of data protection solutions for physical, virtual, and cloud environments. Its DXi deduplication systems and Scalar automated tape libraries optimize backup and recovery, simplify management and lower cost while its vmPRO virtual server backup and disaster recovery (DR) offerings protect virtual environments while minimizing the impact on servers and storage. In addition, its Q-Cloud backup and DR services are designed to help customers take advantage of cloud-based data protection through an optimized, flexible approach designed to overcome the limitations of other cloud offerings, and it also provides the underlying technology platform to partners and end user customers to build their own clouds. Its Scale-out Storage and Archive products include StorNext Software, StorNext Appliances, and Lattus Object Storage. Its Data Protection products include DXi Disk Systems, vmPRO for Virtual Environments, Scalar Tape Automation Systems, and Devices and Media. Its Cloud Solutions offer a software platform to help customers take advantage of cloud-based data protection through a optimized, flexible approach designed to overcome the limitations of other cloud offerings. The Company's competitors include EMC Corporation, International Business Machines Corporation, NetApp, Inc, Hewlett-Packard Company, among others. The Company is subject to a variety of laws and regulations relating to, among other things, the use, storage, discharge and disposal of materials and substances used in its facilities.
