Republic Bancorp, Inc., along with its subsidiaries, provides banking, tax refund solutions, and mortgage banking services. The Company's segments include: Traditional Banking, Mortgage Banking and Republic Processing Group.

Republic Bancorp Inc was incorporated on January 2, 1974. The Company is a bank holding and a parent company of Republic Bank & Trust Company or RB&T and Republic Bank or RB. The main business of the Company is directing, planning and coordinating the business activities of the Bank. The Company is divided into three business operating segments: Traditional Banking, Mortgage Banking and Republic Processing Group. With Traditional Banking segment it engages in Lending activities, which includes: Retail Mortgage Lending, Commercial Lending, Warehouse Lines of Credit, Construction and Land Development Lending, Consumer Lending, Private Banking, Treasury Management Services, Internet Banking, Internet Lending and Correspondent Lending. Mortgage Banking activities include 15, 20 and 30-year fixed-term single family, first lien residential real estate loans that are sold into the secondary market, mainly to the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation. Republic Processing Group segment facilitates the receipt and payment of federal and state tax refund products under the TRS division. As of December 31, 2013, the Company had 45 full-service banking centers with 34 located in Kentucky; 4 located in Metropolitan Tampa, Florida; 3 located in Southern Indiana; 1 in Metropolitan Cincinnati, Ohio; 2 in Metropolitan Nashville, Tennesse and 1 in Metropolitan Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Company faces competition from other financial institution in areas like Traditional Banking, Warehouse Lending, Mortgage Banking. The Company and the Bank are regulated at both the federal and state levels and are subject to various routine and non-routine examinations by federal and state regulators.
