Radian Group Inc, through its subsidiaries and affiliates, provides mortgage insurance on domestic residential First-liens and other products and services to the mortgage and real estate industries. Its segments include mortgage insurance and MRES.

Radian Group Inc was incorporated as a business corporation under the laws of the State of Delaware in 1991. The Company is a credit enhancement company. The Company has two business segments; mortgage insurance and services. Its mortgage insurance segment provides credit-related insurance coverage, mainly through private mortgage insurance and risk management services, to mortgage lending institutions. The Company conducts its business mainly through Radian Guaranty Inc., its main mortgage insurance subsidiary. Its services segment provides outsourced services, information-based analytics and specialty consulting for buyers and sellers of, and investors in, mortgage- and real estate-related loans and securities as well as other ABS. The primary lines of business in the services segment include, loan review and due diligence; surveillance, including RMBS surveillance, loan servicer oversight, loan-level servicing compliance reviews and operational reviews of mortgage servicers and originators; valuation and component services providing outsourcing and technology solutions for the SFR and residential real estate markets. These services and solutions are provided through Clayton and its subsidiaries, including Green River Capital, Red Bell and ValuAmerica. Its competitors include Arch U.S. MI, Essent Guaranty Inc., Genworth Financial Inc., Mortgage Guaranty Insurance Corporation, NMI Holdings, Inc. and United Guaranty Corporation. The Company and its insurance subsidiaries are subject to comprehensive regulation mainly designed for the protection of policyholders, rather than for the benefit of investors, by the insurance departments in the various states where its insurance subsidiaries are licensed to transact business.
