Reinsurance Group of America Inc is an insurance holding company. The Company is engaged in the reinsurance of individual and group coverages for traditional life and health, longevity, disability income, asset-intensive and critical illness products.

The Company is engaged in the reinsurance of individual and group coverages for traditional life and health, longevity, disability income, asset-intensive and critical illness products, and financial reinsurance. The Company now has subsidiaries, branch operations, or representative offices in Australia, Barbados, Bermuda, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom. The Company's main business is life and health reinsurance, which involves reinsuring life insurance policies that are often in force for the remaining lifetime of the underlying individuals insured, with premiums earned typically over a period of 10 to 30 years. The Company covers a portfolio of life and health insurance products including term life, credit life, universal life, whole life, group life and health, joint and last survivor insurance, critical illness, disability income as well as asset-intensive and financial reinsurance. The Company's competitors include Munich Re, Swiss Re, Hannover Re, SCOR Global Re, and Generali. Its reinsurance subsidiaries are subject to government regulation in each of the jurisdictions in which the company is licensed or authorized to do business.
