Salisbury Bancorp Inc is a Connecticut corporation that was organized on April 24, 1998. The Company is a bank holding company for Salisbury Bank or the Bank. The Company, together with its subsidiary, provides commercial banking, consumer financing, retail banking and trust and wealth advisory services through a network of eight banking offices and eight ATMs located in Litchfield County, Connecticut, Dutchess County, New York and Berkshire County, Massachusetts and through its internet website. Its lending activities include: The Bank originates commercial loans, commercial real estate loans, residential and commercial construction loans, residential real estate loans collateralized by one-to-four family residences, home equity lines of credit and fixed rate loans and other consumer loans predominately in Connecticuts Litchfield County, Massachusetts Berkshire County and New Yorks Dutchess County in towns proximate to the Banks eight full service offices. A main lending activity of the Bank is to originate prime loans secured by first mortgages on one-to-four family residences. The Bank originates residential real estate loans through commissioned mortgage originators. The Bank originates both fixed rate and adjustable rate mortgages. The Bank originates both residential and commercial construction loans. The Bank originates types of consumer loans, including home equity loans and lines of credit, auto, and personal installment loans. Home equity loans and lines of credit are secured by one-to-four family owner-occupied properties, typically by second mortgages. Home equity loans have fixed interest rates, while home equity lines of credit adjust based on the Banks base rate of interest. Consumer loans are originated through the branch network. The Bank provides fiduciary and trust services and general investment management and wealth advisory services to individuals, families and institutions. The Bank faces competition in attracting and retaining deposits and in making loans. It is subject to regulation and regular examinations by the Federal Reserve System.
