Swift Energy Company was founded in 1979. The Company is engaged in developing, exploring, acquiring, and operating oil and natural gas properties, with a focus on oil and natural gas reserves in Texas as well as onshore and in the inland waters of Louisiana. It currently focuses primarily on development and exploration of three core areas. The major fields in its core areas are: South Texas; Southeast Louisiana; and Central Louisiana/East Texas. Swift Energy focuses its operational activities within four geographic areas of the United States: two areas along the Louisiana coast, one area in South Texas, and one area that includes portions of Central Louisiana and East Texas. Through exploratory and development drilling within these areas, together with the acquisition of additional producing properties, its oil and gas reserves and production have steadily increased over time in spite of periodic temporary setbacks caused by the cyclical nature of the oil and gas industry. The Company is a producer of crude oil in the state of Louisiana, and holds a large acreage position in Texas prospective for Eagle Ford shale and Olmos tight sands development.
