Business Description

ReneSola Ltd. is a British Virgin Islands company, which conducts its business mainly through its subsidiary, Zhejiang Yuhui. The Company develops, manufactures and sells solar wafers, which are thin sheets of crystalline silicon material mainly made by slicing monocrystalline or multicrystalline ingots. It offers monocrystalline wafers and multicrystalline wafers of various sizes and thicknesses. The Company also offers ingot and wafer processing services to certain customers. It produces solar wafers using a range of silicon raw materials, including reclaimable silicon raw materials, in the form of partially-processed and broken wafers, broken solar cells, pot scrap, silicon powder, ingot tops and tails and other off-cuts. The key raw material for its wafer production is polysilicon. Currently, the Company uses polysilicon as primary feedstock to produce solar wafers. It procures its raw materials from diversified sources. The Company's customers include some of the global manufacturers of solar cells and modules, such as JA Solar Co., Ltd., Motech Industries Inc., Solarfun Power Holding Ltd. and Suntech Power Co., Ltd. It currently sells its solar wafers mainly to solar cell and module manufacturers. The solar power market is competitive and continually evolving. The Company's competitors include specialized solar wafer manufacturers such as LDK Solar Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Shunda PV-Tech Co., Ltd. and Jinggong P-D Shaoxing Solar Energy Technology Co., Ltd. The competitors also include solar wafer manufacturing divisions of large conglomerates engaging in solar wafer manufacturing such as Deutsche Solar AG, Kyocera Corporation and M. SETEK Co., Ltd. The Company is subject to a number of governmental regulations related to environmental protection.
