Stratus Properties Inc is a Delaware corporation formed in March 1992. The Company, along with its subsidiaries, is engaged in the acquisition, development, management, operation and sale of commercial, hotel, entertainment, multi-family and residential real estate properties located mainly in the Austin, Texas area. The Company's real estate holdings are in southwest Austin, Texas. It has executed an agreement with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. for the management of hotel operations at its W Austin Hotel & Residences project. The W Austin Hotel includes 251 luxury rooms and suites, a full service spa, gym, rooftop pool and 9,750 square feet of meeting space. The entertainment space at the W Austin Hotel & Residences project is occupied by Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater and includes a live music and entertainment venue and production studio. The Company's commercial holdings as of December 31, 2013, consisted of 39,328 square feet of office space and 18,362 square feet of retail space at the W Austin Hotel & Residences project, a 22,366-square-foot retail complex and a 3,085-square-foot bank building representing phase one of Barton Creek Village, two retail buildings totaling 21,248 square feet and a 4,450-square-foot bank building on an existing ground lease at the 5700 Slaughter retail complex in the Circle C Ranch community and 90,641 square feet at Parkside Village, a retail project in the Circle C community. The Company's real estate investments are subject to extensive local, city, county and state rules and regulations regarding permitting, zoning, subdivision, utilities and water quality as well as federal rules and regulations regarding air and water quality and protection of endangered species and their habitats.
