Tate & Lyle PLC provides ingredients and solutions to the food, beverage and other industries. The Company's operations comprise of two operating segments: Speciality Food Ingredients and Bulk Ingredients.

Tate & Lyle is an ingredient manufacturer for food and beverage customers, specialising in sweeteners and starches, although it does not manufacture sugar. It benefits from industry megatrends including health and wellness, calorie reduction, clean labelling, and increased consumption of processed foods. It processes corn in plants and has blending facilities worldwide. Byproducts (waste) from corn wet milling are sold as animal feed. Despite its U.K. listing, 69% of T&L's sales are in the United States, and only 1% are in the United Kingdom.
