Territorial Bancorp Inc is a Maryland corporation, organized in 1921. On July 10, 2009, the Company completed its initial public offering. It is currently the wholly-owned subsidiary of Territorial Bancorp Inc. It is a federally chartered savings bank. The Company, through its subsidiary, provides financial services to individuals, families and businesses through its 28 banking offices located throughout the State of Hawaii. Its business consists of accepting deposits from the general public and investing those deposits, together with funds generated from operations and borrowings, in one- to four-family residential mortgage loans and investment securities. It also originates home equity loans and lines of credit, construction, commercial and other nonresidential real estate loans, consumer loans, multi-family mortgage loans and other loans. It offers a variety of deposit accounts, including passbook and statement savings accounts, certificates of deposit, money market accounts, commercial and regular checking accounts and Super NOW accounts. Through its subsidiary, Territorial Financial Services, Inc., it is engaged in insurance agency activities. It also offers various non-deposit investments to its customers, including annuities and mutual funds, through a third-party broker-dealer. The Company competes with commercial banks, savings institutions, mortgage brokerage firms, credit unions, finance companies, mutual funds, insurance companies and investment banking firms.
