Tredegar Corp is incorporated in the state of Virginia in June 1, 1988. The Company through its subsidiaries is engaged in manufacturing plastic films and aluminum extrusions. It has two reportable segments: Film Products and Aluminum Extrusions. The Film Products segment is categorized into five units: Personal Care Materials, Flexible Packaging Films, Surface Protection Films, Polyethylene Overwrap & Polypropylene Films, and Films for Other Markets. Film Products is the largest suppliers of apertured, breathable, elastic and embossed films, and laminate materials for personal care markets. The products are sold under SoftQuilt, ComfortQuilt, ComfortAire, ComfortFeel, SoftAire, FreshFeel, ExtraFlex, FabriFlex, StretchTab, FlexAire, FlexFeel, AquiDry, AquiDry Plus and AquiSoft brand names. Apart from manufacturing of plastic films, the Company also manufactures elastics and laminate materials for personal care products and surface protection and packaging applications. These products are manufactured at facilities in the United States, The Netherlands, Hungary, China, Brazil and India. Film Products sells its products to branded product producers such as Procter & Gamble Company, among others. The raw materials used by Film Products are polypropylene resins, Purified Terephthalic Acid and Monoethylene Glycol which are obtained from domestic and foreign suppliers. The Aluminum Extrusions segment produce high-quality, soft-alloy and medium-strength aluminum extrusions primarily for building and construction, distribution, transportation, electrical, consumer durables and machinery and equipment markets. Aluminum Extrusions manufactures mill (unfinished), anodized (coated) and painted and fabricated aluminum extrusions for sale directly to fabricators and distributors. As of December 31, 2013, Film Products held 305 issued patents and 121 trademarks and Aluminum Extrusions held one U.S. patent and three U.S. trademark registrations. The Company is subjected to the governmental regulations in the countries where it conducts the business.
