Business Description

TowneBank is a community bank is a provider of financial services to individuals, small and medium sized businesses. It operates in three segments: Banking, Realty and Insurance. The banking segment provides loan and deposit services to retail and commercial customers. It also provides commercial mortgage brokerage services, investment and asset management services. The deposit products include checking accounts, NOW accounts, saving accounts, time deposit services and long term certificates of deposit. The realty segment provides complete residential real estate services, originations of mortgage loans, resort property management and commercial residential title insurance. The insurance segment provides property and casualty insurance as well as employee and group benefits. The company boasts seventeen banking offices in Chesapeake, Hampton, Portsmouth, Newport News, Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Williamsburg and York County. Each Towne company offers a complete range of products and services to meet all of its members' needs. Most recently in 2009, Towne combined 3 local companies, GSH Real Estate, Prudential McCardle Realty and Prudential Decker Realty, to form Prudential Towne Realty, which is a home marketing firm in Hampton Roads.
