Ultrapar Participacoes SA through its subsidiaries is engaged in distribution of LPG & fuel & related businesses, production & marketing of chemicals, & storage services for liquid bulk. It also trades pharmaceutical, hygiene, beauty & skincare products.

Ultrapar Participacoes SA was incorporated in Brazil on December 20, 1953. The Company is engaged in the investment of its capital in services, commercial, and industrial activities. The Company through its subsidiaries is engaged in the LPG distribution, fuel distribution and related businesses, production and marketing of chemicals, and storage services for liquid bulk. It is also engaged in the trading of pharmaceutical, hygiene, beauty, and skincare products. The Company operates in five segments including gas distribution, fuel distribution, chemicals, storage and drugstores. The gas distribution segment (Ultragaz) distributes LPG to residential, commercial, and industrial consumers, in the South, Southeast, and Northeast regions of Brazil. The fuel distribution segment (Ipiranga) operates the distribution and marketing of gasoline, ethanol, diesel, fuel oil, and kerosene, natural gas for vehicles, and lubricants and related activities throughout all the Brazilian territory. The chemicals segment (Oxiteno) produces ethylene oxide and its main derivatives and fatty alcohols, which are raw materials used in the home and personal care, agrochemical, paints, varnishes, and other industries. The storage segment (Ultracargo) operates liquid bulk terminals, in the Southeast and Northeast regions of Brazil. The drugstores segment (Extrafarma) trades pharmaceutical, hygiene, and beauty products through its drugstore chain in the states of Pará,Amapá, Maranhão, Piauí, Ceará, and Rio Grande do Norte.
