World Steel reports that U.S. crude steel production is down 2.9% for the month of August 2013, year over year. China’s steel production for the same month was up 12.8% compared to August 2012. Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, a Delaware corporation, was incorporated in 1994. The Company, through its wholly owned subsidiaries, manufactures and markets semi-finished and finished specialty steel products, including stainless steel, tool steel and certain other alloyed steels. Its product portfolio comprises of ingots, forging quality billet, plates, specialty bars, specialty shapes, and coil products. It also offers conversion services on Radial Forge and Universal Rolling Mill. The Toll Processing customers include mills, service centers and forgers. Its business is segmented into two - Universal Stainless & Alloy Products and Dunkirk Specialty Steel. The Universal Stainless & Alloy Products comprises of melting, remelting, heat treating, forging and hot and cold rolling of semi-finished and finished specialty steels. This segment encompasses of Bridgeville, North Jackson and Titusville facilities. Dunkirk Specialty Steel segment comprises of manufacturing of hot rolling and finishing specialty steel bar, rod and wire products. Its customers include erollers, forgers, service centers, original equipment manufacturers and wire redrawers. Its products are further processed by its customers for use in a variety of industries, including aerospace, power generation, oil & gas and heavy equipment manufacturing.
