Universal Technical Institute Inc provides post-secondary education for students seeking careers as professional automotive, diesel, collision repair, motorcycle and marine technicians.

Universal Technical Institute Inc is a Delaware corporation. The Company provides post-secondary education for students seeking careers as professional automotive, diesel, collision repair, motorcycle and marine technicians. It offers undergraduate degree or diploma programs at 12 campuses and advanced training programs that are sponsored by the manufacturer or dealer at certain campuses and dedicated training centers. It works with original equipment manufacturers in the automotive, diesel, motorcycle and marine industries to understand their needs for qualified service professionals. The Company employs field, military and campus-based admissions representatives who work directly with prospective students to facilitate the enrollment process. The Company's competitors for the programs it provides are other for-profit career-oriented and technical schools, including Lincoln Technical Institute, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lincoln Educational Services Corporation, WyoTech and traditional two-year junior and community colleges. The Company uses hazardous materials at its training facilities and campuses and generates small quantities of regulated waste, including, but not limited to, used oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid, paint, solvents and car batteries. As a result, its facilities and operations are subject to a variety of environmental laws and regulations governing, among other things, the use, storage and disposal of solid and hazardous substances and waste, and the clean-up of contamination at its facilities or off-site locations to which it sends or have sent waste for disposal.
