Business Description

VimpelCom Ltd. was formed in the year 2009. The company was incorporated in Bermuda. It is a jointly owned and controlled by Altimo Holdings & Investments Ltd. and Telenor East Invest AS. OJSC VimpelCom is a telecommunications operator providing voice and data services through a range of mobile, fixed and broadband technologies. The OJSC VimpelCom group of companies includes companies operating in the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ukraine, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Tajikistan and Georgia, as well as in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Kingdom of Cambodia, covering territory with a total population of approximately 340.0 million. The Company provides services under the 'Beeline', 'Kyivstar', and 'djuice' brands. The company is Listed as an ADS on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "VIP" The strategy for VimpelCom includes: Maintaining a dominant market position in all markets where the company operates; Providing a footing for expansion into new high-growth geographies by pursuing a cluster development model; and Focusing on return on capital employed. The company has approximately 92 million subscribers worldwide.
