Vantage Drilling Company was incorporated under the laws of the Cayman Islands. It is an international drilling company focused on operating a fleet of high specification drilling units. The Company's primary business is to contract drilling units, related equipment and work crews mainly on a dayrate basis to drill oil and natural gas wells. It also provides construction supervision services for, and would operate and manage, drilling units owned by others. Through its fleet of nine owned and managed drilling units, it is a provider of offshore contract drilling services globally to major, national and large independent oil and natural gas companies. The Company's business is subject to numerous governmental laws and regulations, including those that may impose significant costs and liability on it for environmental and natural resource damages.
