Vertex Energy, Inc., a Nevada corporation as incorporated on May 14, 2008. The Company provides a range of services designed to aggregate, process, and recycle industrial and commercial waste streams. It currently provides these services in approximately 13 states, with its primary focus in the Gulf Coast Region of the United States. The Company's operations include are focused on recycling industrial waste streams and off-specification commercial chemical products. It manages the transport, storage and delivery of the aggregated feedstock and product streams to end users. The Company has two divisions comprised of Black Oil and Refining and Marketing. Black Oil division aggregates used motor oil from third-party collectors and manages the delivery of this feedstock to third-party re-refining facilities, as well as fuel oil blenders, and burners of black oil. Refining and Marketing division aggregates used motor oil, petroleum distillates, transmix and other off-specification chemical products. These feedstock streams are purchased from pipeline operators, refineries, chemical processing facilities and third-party providers. The Company's competitors include Safety-Kleen, Inc., Rio Energy, Inc., Heckmann Corporation, Heritage-Crystal Clean, Inc., and FCC Environmental. Its operations are regulated by federal, state, county and, in some jurisdictions, city regulations.
