Williams-Sonoma Inc is a multi-channel specialty retailer of home furnishings in the United States and Canada.

Williams-Sonoma Inc was incorporated in 1973. It is a multi-channel specialty retailer of products for the home. Its direct-to-customer segment has seven merchandising concepts namely, Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, PBteen, West Elm, Rejuvenation and Mark and Graham; and sells products through its seven e-commerce websites: williams-sonoma.com, potterybarn.com, potterybarnkids.com, pbteen.com, westelm.com, rejuvenation.com and markandgraham.com; and eight direct-mail catalogs such as Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Bed and Bath, Pottery Barn Kids, PBteen, West Elm, Rejuvenation and Mark and Graham. Its retail segment has five merchandising concepts-Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, West Elm and Rejuvenation, operating 585 stores comprised of 554 in 44 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico and 25 stores in Canada 5 stores in Australia and 1 store in the United Kingdom. This represents 248 Williams-Sonoma, 194 Pottery Barn, 81 Pottery Barn Kids, 58 West Elm and 4 Rejuvenation stores. The Company purchases its merchandise from numerous foreign and domestic manufacturers and importers. The specialty retail business is highly competitive. The Companys specialty retail stores, direct-mail catalogs and e-commerce websites compete with other retail stores, including large department stores, discount retailers, other specialty retailers offering home-centered assortments, other direct-mail catalogs and other e-commerce websites. The Company owns and has applied to register over 80 separate trademarks and service marks. It owns and has applied to register its key brand names as trademarks in the U.S., Canada and approximately 90 additional jurisdictions.
