Yelp Inc operates local search website that connects people with local businesses. The Company provides local advertising, brand advertising, and other services.

Yelp Inc was incorporated in Delaware on September 3, 2004. The Company operates local search website that connects people with local businesses. The business of Company revolves around three key constituencies: the communities of contributors who write reviews, the consumers who read them and the local businesses that they describe. The users have contributed approximately 52.8 million cumulative reviews of almost every type of local business, from restaurants, boutiques and salons to dentists, mechanics, plumbers and more. The Company enables businesses to create a free online business account and claim the page for each of their business locations. Its enhanced listing solution eliminates search advertising from the businesses' profile pages and allows them to incorporate a video clip or photo slide show on the pages. It also allows businesses to promote themselves as a sponsored search result on its platform. It's Call to Action feature allows businesses to promote a desired transaction of their choosing, such as scheduling an appointment or printing a coupon, directly on their business listing page. In Brand Advertising, the Company offers both graphic and text display advertisements on its website and mobile app & its fixed-price brand sponsorships provide businesses with exclusivity over a section or advertising placement on Yelp for a fixed period of time. The Company's Other services include Yelp Platform, Online Reservations, Yelp Deals, Gift Certificates. The Company supports communities of contributors in local markets across the United States, Canada, Europe, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and Brazil. The Company's platform provides businesses with a variety of free and paid services. The customers of Company are local advertiser & brand advertising agencies. In offline services, it primarily competes with offline media companies, service providers. In online services, it competes with Internet search engines, such as, Google, Yahoo! and Bing. The Company also competes with various other online service providers and review and social media websites. The Company's operations are subject to a number of foreign and domestic laws and regulations relating to consumer protection, information security, data protection and privacy, among other things.
