Kinder Morgan, Inc., owns interests in an energy transportation and storage company. The Company, through its subsidiaries, owns and operates pipelines that transport natural gas, gasoline, crude oil, carbon dioxide and other products.

Kinder Morgan Inc is a midstream and energy company formed in August 23, 2006. The Company along with its subsidiaries owns an interest in or operates approximately 80,000 miles of pipelines and 180 terminals. Its pipelines transport natural gas, refined petroleum products, crude oil, condensate, CO2 and other products, and its terminals store petroleum products, ethanol and chemicals, and handle products as coal, petroleum coke and steel. The Company operates in segments including Natural Gas Pipelines, CO2, Products Pipelines, Terminals, Kinder Morgan Canada, and other. The Natural Gas Pipelines segment is engaged in the sale, transport, processing, treating, fractionation, storage and gathering of natural gas and NGL. The CO2 segment is engaged in the production, sale and transportation of crude oil from fields in the Permian Basin of West Texas and the production, transportation and marketing of CO2 used as a flooding medium for recovering crude oil from mature oil fields. The Products Pipelines segment includes the transportation and terminaling of refined petroleum products including gasoline, diesel fuel and jet fuel, NGL, crude and condensate, and bio-fuels. The Terminals segment is engaged in the transloading and storing of refined petroleum products and dry and liquid bulk products, including coal, petroleum coke, cement, alumina, salt and other bulk chemicals. The Kinder Morgan Canada segment is engaged in the transportation of crude oil and refined products from Alberta, Canada to marketing terminals and refineries in British Columbia and the state of Washington. The other segment includes physical natural gas contracts with power plants associated with EP's legacy trading activities. The Company's competitors include the suppliers that have an ownership interest in McElmo Dome, Bravo Dome and Sheep Mountain CO2 resources, and Oxy USA, Inc. The Company's operations are subject to various federal, state, provincial and local laws and regulations.
