Macy's Inc is an omnichannel retailer. The Company sells merchandise, including men's, women's and children's apparel and accessories, cosmetics, home furnishings and other consumer goods.

Macy's Inc is incorporated in Delaware in 1985. The Company and its predecessors have been operating department stores since 1830. The Company is an omnichannel retail organization operating stores, websites and mobile applications under three brands (Macy's and Bloomingdale's and Bluemercury) that sells merchandise, including apparel and accessories (men's, women's and children's), cosmetics, home furnishings and other consumer goods in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Guam and Puerto Rico. The specific assortments vary by size of store, merchandising character and character of customers in the trade areas. The stores are located at urban or suburban sites, in densely populated areas across the United States. The Company operates thirteen Bloomingdale's Outlet stores. Bloomingdale's in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is operated under a license agreement with Al Tayer Insignia, a company of Al Tayer Group, LLC. The retailers with which the Company competes include Amazon, Bed Bath & Beyond, Belk, Bon Ton, Burlington Coat Factory, Dillard's, Gap, J.C. Penney, Kohl's, L Brands, Lord & Taylor, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Ross Stores, Saks, Sears, Target, TJ Maxx and Wal-Mart. The Company is subject to various federal, state and local laws, rules, regulations, inquiries and initiatives in connection with both its core business operations and its credit card and other ancillary operations.
