Office Depot Inc., was incorporated in 1986 in Delaware in 1986 with the opening of its first retail store in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. On November 5, 2013, the Company completed its merger with OfficeMax Incorporated ("OfficeMax") in an all-stock transaction. The former OfficeMax businesses in Australia, New Zealand and Mexico are included in the International Division. The North American Retail Division sells a broad assortment of merchandise through the chain of office supply stores throughout the United States, including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
