U.S. Bancorp is a multi-state financial holding company. It provides financial services through its subsidiaries, including lending and depository services, cash management, foreign exchange and trust and investment management services.

US Bancorp was incorporated in Delaware in 1929. It is a multi-state financial services holding company headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It provides financial services, including lending and depository services, cash management, foreign exchange and trust and investment management services. It also engaged in credit card services, merchant and ATM processing, mortgage banking, insurance, brokerage and leasing. It provides its banking and investment services through a network of 3,133 banking offices mainly operating in the Midwest and West regions of the United States. It operates a network of 4,936 ATMs and provides 24-hour, seven day a week telephone customer service. Lending products may be originated through banking offices, indirect correspondents, brokers and other lending sources. It provides Visa corporate and purchasing card services and corporate trust services in the United States. It also provides corporate trust and fund administration services in Europe. It competes with other commercial banks and with other financial institutions, including savings & loan associations, mutual savings banks, finance companies, mortgage banking companies, credit unions and investment companies. As a registered bank holding company & financial holding company under the Bank Holding Company Act, US, its business is subject to the supervision of and regulation by, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
