Adept Technology Inc was incorporated in California in 1983 and reincorporated in Delaware in 2005. The Company is a robotics-based automation supplier. Through integrated offerings of both industrial and mobile robots helps customers improve the speed, quality and efficiency of their production environments. It design and manufacture industrial (fixed) and mobile robots along with a complementary suite of control and vision systems and software which are used for assembly, packaging, handling, testing and logistics applications in both fixed repetitive and unstructured environments. It operates in two segments: Robotics and Services & Support. Its geographic areas include United States, Europe, Asia and among others. It classifies robots into two categories, fixed (industrial) robots (multi-axis) and mobile robots (autonomous vehicles). It manufactures both types of robots and offers many options such as vision and automation control software and related hardware, parts feeding and enterprise-level software. It competes with ABB, Epson, Fanuc, Kuka, Yaskawa, Denso, Motoman, Staubli, Amazon (Kiva), Aethon, MetraLabs Seegrid, Savant and Neobotix.
