Lot of REITs and utilities and consumer staples out there that are at prices that are higlhly atractive. Depends on what your goals are, im living of my dividends and have been for years. I built a portfolio that allowed me to retire early by nit chasing growth and not tryinf to time the marker for perfect entries. I don't trade in and our of stocks, I buy and hold. People tend to make invesrinf much more complicated then it needs to be, by trying to trade in and out of stocks. Again all depends on your goals my goal was to build a portfoliio that prieuced 6 figures in dividend income and i did that by buying quality established companies that paid dividends, if your in it for the long haul 20 to 30 years sitting in sidelines isnt going to help. The majority of my biggest winners are stocks i bought when everyone said they were "overvalued"
Now 15, 20, 30 years later I have no clue what I paid for MO, PEP, SYY, LMT, ABT, XOM, WMT and many others. I do know when i bought them people were saying they were overvauled, had I waited or not purchased it would have been a huge mistake. recent years ive purchased stocks like V, HD, MA, and many others which were "overvalued". Buy high quality companies that pay and raise their dividends, reinvest those dividends and just forget about your portfolio. This had made me wealthy far far beyond my pensions and employee contribution plans.
Sure ive has some duds along the way, but I own over 130 companies now with 97% all showing green and the majority showing huge gains that far out weigh the 5 or so companies ive had go broke. Investing is not hard, its the not doing anytbing to your portfolio and patience that is hard. When I was building my portfolio and to this day I check it maybe once a week, mainly to collect my dividends.
If you gave me a million today id invest it all, ignore the taking heads and media and be diversified and patient.
Positions I own which I revently added to;
All bargain deals tbat will double in 2 years? No unlikey but all solid companies i expect to be around in 20 years paying me nice huge divi check.
Dont make investing harder then it is. I kick myself now 20 years later for stocks i didnt buy, becasue someone convinced me they were overvalued bubbles, not for the stocks I bought which im up 600% but could have been up 1000% if i waited. **
