Guru suggestion: David Abrams

How about David Abrams?

If he's good enough to pal around with Seth Klarman (Abrams worked for Baupost, then started his own firm; Klarman also asked him to write the introduction to Part VII of the version of "Security Analysis" that he edited), he's good enough for me.

According to Seeking Alpha (I'm unable to post the link here (?), but search for him on that site...), his fund has returned 20%, net of fees, annually since 1999. That's good enough to hang with anyone.

Finally, he's clearly committed to a concentrated portfolio (17 stocks) and a value approach...

David Abrams should definitely be a guru. His track record is outstanding and even Seth Klarman (Trades, Portfolio) himself has invested with David.
