Guru Stocks Raising Dividends: GE, EEP, NMM, WES, EPB

This is the group of companies who raised their dividend during the week: General Electric Company, Enbridge Energy Partners L.P., NAVIOS MARITIME PTN, WESTERN GAS PARTNERS LP, and El Paso Pipeline Partners L.P.

General Electric Company (GE, Financial)

General Electric is one of the largest and most diversified industrial corporations in the world. General Electric Company has a market cap of $172.11 billion; its shares were traded at around $16.12 with a P/E ratio of 14.8 and P/S ratio of 1.1. The company raised its quarterly dividend 20% to 12 cents/share on Friday. The news sent the stock over 3% higher for the day. Whether the company can rebuild its streak of consecutive dividend increases remains to be seen however.

GE announced today second-quarter 2010 earnings from revenues decreased 4% to $37.4 billion. GE Capital Services’ (GECS) revenues fell 2% versus last year to $13.1 billion. Industrial sales were $24.4 billion, down 6% from the second quarter of 2009. Continuing operations (attributable to GE) were $3.3 billion, with EPS of $0.30 per share up 15% from the second quarter of 2009. Revenues were $37.4 billion for the quarter, down 4% from a year ago, impacted by lower GE Capital assets, industrial dispositions and lower equipment sales as expected.

Enbridge Energy Partners L.P. (EEP, Financial)

Enbridge Energy Partners, L.P. owns the U.S. portion of the world's longest liquid petroleum pipeline. Enbridge Energy Partners L.p. has a market cap of $5.29 billion; its shares were traded at around $54.26 with a P/E ratio of 18.2 and P/S ratio of 0.9. The company announced a cash distribution of $1.0275 per unit, which was an increase of 2.5 percent over previous quarters distribution per unit. Yield: 7.10%

Navios Maritime Partners L.P. reported its financial results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2010. Net income for the three months ended June 30, 2010 amounted to $13.2 million compared to $3.6 million for the three months ended June 30, 2009. EBITDA increased by $9.4 million to $24.6 million for the three month period ended June 30, 2010 as compared to $15.2 million for the same period of 2009.

WESTERN GAS PARTNERS LP (WES, Financial)

WESTERN GAS PARTNERS is a growth-oriented Delaware limited partnership formed by Anadarko Petroleum Corporation to own, operate, acquire and develop midstream energy assets. Western Gas Partners Lp has a market cap of $982.3 million; its shares were traded at around $23.96 with a P/E ratio of 18.1 and P/S ratio of 4.
