"The world is in transition and you have some trends that are favorable and other trends that are no favorable. So I think it’s not a question to be ultra-bearish or ultra-bullish but to try to identify where there are opportunities. And I believe, in general, we live through very interesting times in the sense that the weight of the global economy is shifting to emerging economies."—Dr. Marc Faber

Marc Faber, author and editor of the Boom Gloom, and Doom Report, believes there will be opportunities in emerging markets but not without volatility. Countries such as India, China, Vietnam, Russia, and Central Asia will have more weight in both economic and political affairs due to their expanding economies and that’s where opportunities will exist. On the subject of the U.S. having long term deflation, Faber believes the government imposing taxes somehow always find their way down to the consumer and should be considered a form of inflation.
