Baron Funds Comments on SBA Communications Corp.

SBA Communications Corp. (SBAC, Financial) owns cellular communications towers and leases space on them to all the major domestic wireless telecommunication carriers. Its shares rose as the increasing use of smartphones, such as the new iPhone 5, drove ongoing demand for wireless bandwidth. This, in turn, led wireless carriers to seek additional space on SBA's towers.
