Loews Tisch Is Bullish About the Hotel Industry

There are value investors like Bill Ackman or Bruce Berkowitz who run hedge funds or mutual funds that we follow closely. And then there are value investors (and sometimes families) that we follow who run publicly traded companies.

That list would include Buffett at Berkshire, Gayner at Markel, the boys at Leucadia and the Tisch Family at Loews (L, Financial).

This morning Jonathon Tisch spoke to Bloomberg and made the following comments:

- Loews is expanding as they are bullish about the hotel industry and tourism.

- He understands that the consumer market is still fairly weak, but Loews is focused on iconic properties and markets that are still strong

- Thinks that New York is ready to host the Super Bowl next year despite the impact of hurricane Sandy.
