BRIC Acronym Creator Jim O'Neill - The Market Is Usually Smarter Than You Are

Goldman's Jim O'Neill created the "BRIC" concept that covers the major high-growth emerging economies of Brazil, Russia, India and China.

He is winding down his time at Goldman (finishes at the end of this month) and was asked what lessons he learned that were most important during his career.

His first observation is that over time he has learned that the market is usually smarter than he is. He thinks that if you get your projections right, 60% of the time you are doing a fantastic job.

He also observes that crises come and go, and no matter how bad the current crisis seems we will get through it.
