Keith Trauner is a former portfolio manager at the Bruce Berkowitz-run Fairholme Fund and is a value-focused manager.

Trauner believes that investors need to be aware that the current ultra-low interest rate environment is not a permanent condition.

Therefore he likes companies that are not heavily leveraged. In a rising interest rate environment companies with significant debt are going to suffer as annual interest expenses increase.
