CME Group (CME), a leading global derivatives marketplace, reported an all-time high average daily volume (ADV) of 35.9 million contracts for April 2025, marking a significant 36% increase from the previous year. This achievement highlights robust growth across all product categories, underscoring CME's expansive reach in the derivatives market.

The interest rate sector led the surge, with ADV climbing 46% to 18.4 million contracts. This growth was bolstered by record volumes in SOFR futures (6 million contracts) and U.S. Treasury options (1.8 million contracts). Additionally, a noteworthy milestone was achieved with the equity index and metals products, setting new monthly records with ADV of 9.7 million and 1 million contracts respectively.

Cryptocurrency products witnessed a remarkable expansion, with ADV increasing by 129%. The surge was marked by a 239% jump in Ether futures, contributing to an overall cryptocurrency ADV of 183,000 contracts.

CME's international markets exhibited significant performance, reaching a new record ADV of 10.9 million contracts. This growth was driven by the contributions from the EMEA region, Asia, and Latin America, each posting strong figures.

Furthermore, BrokerTec's U.S. Repo average daily notional value (ADNV) grew 28% to a record $378 billion, reflecting robust activity in fixed-income trading platforms.

Through these comprehensive volume increases across various asset classes, CME Group solidifies its position as a leading derivatives marketplace, effectively capitalizing on the growing global demand for diversified trading options across financial sectors.
