The UK government has launched a "Tech First" initiative, aimed at empowering approximately 7.5 million employees with artificial intelligence (AI) skills. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced partnerships with leading tech companies, including Google, Microsoft (MSFT, Financial), and Amazon (AMZN). These companies have committed to providing free training materials over the next five years. The training will focus on the use of chatbots and large language models to enhance productivity.

Additionally, the UK plans to invest £187 million in developing tech skills for one million students, integrating AI learning into classrooms and communities. The initiative seeks to equip younger generations with the skills necessary to influence future technological advancements.
