  • LightPath Technologies (LPTH, Financial) launches first industrial-grade cooled MWIR optical gas imaging camera.
  • The new camera is capable of detecting over 11 VOCs and 25 different gases.
  • Both cooled and uncooled models comply with EPA Subpart OOOOb regulations.

LightPath Technologies (LPTH) has introduced its first industrial-grade MWIR optical gas imaging (OGI) camera, developed by its subsidiary G5 Infrared. This new cooled camera is designed to complement the company's existing uncooled LWIR model, providing a comprehensive range of solutions for gas detection applications. The cooled system has been validated at a certified facility to meet the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) standards, specifically Subpart OOOOb.

The cooled OGI camera is engineered to detect over 11 key Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and 25 different gases, making it ideal for industrial applications requiring high sensitivity and precision. This positions LightPath to cater to industries with stringent emission control requirements, such as the oil and natural gas sectors. The existing uncooled model is proficient in detecting Methane, Ammonia, and SF6.

LightPath's CEO, Sam Rubin, highlighted the exceptional performance demonstrated by their cooled camera during validation testing, which not only met EPA requirements but also showed potential for enhanced performance. This strategic product launch aligns with rising regulatory demands and environmental concerns regarding gas emissions, enabling LightPath to capture a wider market share across various pricing and performance segments.
