NFI Group Inc. (NFI) subsidiary, New Flyer of America Inc., has signed a substantial contract with New Jersey Transit (NJ TRANSIT) to provide up to 750 Xcelsior 60-foot clean-diesel transit buses, equating to 1,500 equivalent units. This agreement marks one of the largest clean-diesel bus procurements in the company’s history, reinforcing a 25-year partnership with NJ TRANSIT.

The contract includes an initial firm order for 200 buses, equivalent to 400 units, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2026. Additionally, NJ TRANSIT holds options to acquire up to 550 more buses. This order will be added to New Flyer's backlog for the first quarter of 2025, reflecting New Flyer's commitment to delivering reliable, high-capacity transit solutions.

NJ TRANSIT, operating over 3,500 vehicles and serving more than 225 million passengers annually, aims to modernize its fleet by 2031. The new buses will replace aging vehicles, enhancing passenger comfort, reliability, and accessibility. The Xcelsior clean-diesel buses are equipped with ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel, next-generation engines, and advanced emissions control systems, offering a proven low-emission transit solution for urban environments.
