Private equity firm Thoma Bravo is reportedly in negotiations to acquire call center software maker Verint Systems Inc. (VRNT, Financial). According to insiders, Thoma Bravo is discussing potential deal terms with Verint, which has engaged advisors for the process. However, there's no certainty that an agreement will be reached, and talks could still fall through. Representatives from Thoma Bravo declined to comment, and Verint has not yet responded to requests for comment.
On Wednesday, Verint's shares rose 6.8% to $19.86, giving the company a market value of approximately $1.2 billion. Despite a 28% decline in its stock price this year, Verint's first-quarter revenue exceeded expectations, with analysts attributing the positive performance to increased adoption of its AI-driven software by clients.
Verint, listed on Nasdaq since 2002, describes itself as a leader in customer experience automation, serving around 10,000 clients in over 175 countries. In February 2021, Verint spun off Cognyte Software Ltd., which now operates as an independent public company focused on investigative analytics software, with a market value of about $678 million. Previously, Semafor reported that Verint was working with bankers to find a buyer.
