UL Solutions Inc. (ULS), a leader in applied safety science, has launched new ULTRUS software updates aimed at bolstering business growth and sustainable practices. The latest releases within the ULTRUS platform are designed to meet consumer demands by achieving product, enterprise, and asset compliance alongside sustainability goals. This update provides new features that cater to the management of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), Scope 3, Category 1 emissions, and wind farm planning.
John Genovesi, executive vice president and president of Software and Advisory at UL Solutions, emphasized that the new capabilities enable customers to navigate regulatory requirements, improve transparency in supply chains, and foster sustainability.
The updates also introduce enhancements to WERCSmart®, assisting retailers in identifying PFAS in products to promote safety and environmental protection. PFAS substances are commonly used to repel stains and water but pose ecological challenges due to their persistent nature.
Additionally, UL Solutions has rolled out a new module for its UL 360 ESG and Sustainability platform to streamline Scope 3 emissions data management and reporting. These tools assist organizations in managing complex data from global suppliers, setting meaningful sustainability targets, and ensuring financial resiliency.
The company has also advanced its ESG Disclosures module within the UL 360 platform to accommodate International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) requirements, thereby creating a reliable data source and audit trail for various disclosures. Moreover, the Windnavigator software—part of the ULTRUS suite—introduces AI features to help wind energy developers plan projects more effectively through comprehensive data maps.
As part of its ongoing innovation, UL Solutions added AI-driven content generation capabilities to its LearnShare™ software, facilitating faster creation of learning materials for professionals.
