  • 374Water (SCWO, Financial) collaborates with DoD and Colorado School of Mines in a project to demonstrate PFAS destruction capabilities.
  • The company's AirSCWO technology will be deployed at Peterson Space Force Base to treat PFAS-contaminated waste.
  • This initiative aligns with the DoD's mandate to switch to fluorine-free firefighting foams by October 2024.

374Water Inc. (NASDAQ: SCWO), a leader in organic waste destruction technology, has announced its participation in a Department of Defense (DoD) Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP) project. The project aims to demonstrate 374Water's PFAS destruction capabilities, utilizing its AirSCWO technology at Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

This collaboration involves the Colorado School of Mines and focuses on treating concentrated PFAS liquid waste, a byproduct of the Surface-Active Foam Fractionation (SAFF®) system, which is used after soil washing PFAS-contaminated sediment. 374Water's previous projects have shown PFAS elimination results exceeding 99.99%, making this initiative a promising solution for the DoD's fluorine-free firefighting foam transition by October 2024.

PFAS, or "forever chemicals," are persistent and hazardous, often found in municipal, federal, and industrial processes, posing significant health and environmental risks. The success of this project could position 374Water as a key player in the remediation market, addressing urgent regulatory compliance needs and potentially leading to substantial service contracts across military facilities.
