Heathrow Airport in London experienced a slight decline in passenger numbers in June, with a 1% year-over-year decrease to 7.3 million passengers. Despite this dip, the airport recorded a total of 39.9 million passengers in the first half of the year, marking a record high.
The decline in June was partly due to a 5.9% drop in passengers from the Middle East, influenced by regional conflicts. Additionally, passenger numbers from Latin America and North America decreased by 3.8% and 3.3%, respectively. However, there was growth in travelers from Africa and the European Union, with increases of 1.9% and 1.6% respectively.
