In a recent interview, Nvidia's (NVDA, Financial) CEO Jensen Huang stated that the U.S. government should not worry about the Chinese military utilizing Nvidia chips to enhance its capabilities. He emphasized that due to associated risks, the Chinese military would avoid using U.S. technology, and China already possesses sufficient computing power. This statement addresses longstanding bipartisan U.S. restrictions preventing semiconductor companies from selling their most advanced AI chips to Chinese customers. Huang has previously criticized these policies.

U.S. restrictions on Nvidia's chip sales in China were tightened in April, potentially affecting the company's revenue significantly, with anticipated losses in the billions. Jensen Huang mentioned in May that these limitations have nearly halved Nvidia's market share in China.
