American Rare Earths (OTCQX: AMRRY) has reported significant progress in the mineral processing optimization of its Halleck Creek Rare Earths Project at the Cowboy State Mine in Wyoming. The company is focused on enhancing the recovery of magnet rare earths by testing various comminution and beneficiation methods.
A significant step forward involves the procurement of long-lead equipment necessary for a demonstration plant, which includes conventional magnetic separation systems. In parallel, test mining will soon commence, targeting the extraction of approximately 3,200 tonnes of bulk samples. This material will be critical for further optimization tests and will serve as feedstock for the demonstration plant.
The optimization process includes evaluating three different comminution methods: Vertical Roller Mill, High Pressure Grinding Rolls with Air Classifier, and HPGR Tower Mill. These methods aim to reduce the proportion of fines entering the beneficiation circuit, enhancing the concentration of rare earth oxides.
While this additional optimization step is expected to extend the timeline for the Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS), it is a crucial advancement towards developing a robust mineral processing flow-sheet.
