CES is the biggest tech event tech lovers live for to be able to see what’s coming next, even if it's years down the road from reaching consumers. The ramifications of CES 2014 are being felt in everything from TVs to processors to wearables. CES 2015 promises to be a far better show full of innovative, inspiring and impossible featured items. This time, the CES would not only feature TVs and tablets, but also smartwatches as companies battle to lead in the wrist binding game. The much-awaited Apple (AAPL, Financial) watch might be a part to the show. Let’s check in further to find out what could be expected to be seen in the upcoming CES 2015 show.

The Apple watch

Though Apple has never been a part to the CES show, it seems that it could impact the show even without being present there. Even though the Watch is still not available in the market, it might show its effects on the wearables launched at the CES 2015. The Apple Watch sports a squarish design over the circular form factor that seems to be a sudden hype after Motorola’s (MSI) Moto 360. The watch is crafted from custom alloys of polished or space black stainless steel, space grey or silver anodized aluminium, and 18-karat rose or yellow gold casing.

For starters this watch has pretty much all the required key apps, health, fitness, calls, messaging and the user can even send drawings on the Apple watch screen to other users. The Apple watch has an accelerometer, a built-in heart sensor, GPS and Wi-Fi from the iPhone for all of this.

Other smartwatches lined up for display

At the CES 2015, it is being expected that stainless steel could be the flavour of the season. In fact, Dutch lifestyle designer, Hermen van den Burg, will be showcasing an all-stainless steel smartwatch, the BURG 27, at the CES this year. This watch would also have a health/sleep app, mediate processor, full internet browsing and Android 4.4 as operating system.

There’s quite a possibility of a battle for the wrists as device makers try to craft good looking smartwatches for the young and fashionable clan. There are plenty of wrist watch makers entering the world of smartwatches this year. News sources have confirmed that luxury watch brand TAG Heuer’s first smartwatch powered by Intel (INTC, Financial) would be showcased at this show.

Sony (SNE, Financial) is known to be working on Core fitness tracker that it plans to embed in most of its devices, especially the fitness bands. Though Samsung (SSNLF, Financial) has not disclosed anything, analysts are expecting it to add a few variants to its already existing Gear line-up. HTC, which has not shown any model yet, is assumed to be releasing its first HTC One smartwatch in the CES 2015 show.

Last word

Analysts are expecting smartwatches to be available a dime a dozen at the CES 2015 this year. As the battle on the wrists is slated to intensify during the show, Apple’s much awaited Watch which is expected to hit the shelves by spring this year, will be a part to the show as other smartwatches would be compared with it to match the features and consumers should not be surprised if the Watch features seem similar to several other brands who would be using the CES 2015 as a launchpad for their smartwatches. So, let’s wait a couple of days for the show to begin on the Januray 6, after which there would be plenty of tech stuff to cover in the smartwatch sector.
