Warren Buffett's Berkshire Buys Apple, Phillips 66, IBM, Sells AT&T

Buffett discloses portfolio

Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK.A)(NYSE:BRK.B) released the portfolio Warren Buffett (Trades, Portfolio), Todd Combs and Ted Weschler share early Monday morning, revealing a new purchase of Apple and increases to nine of their existing holdings.

Berkshire purchased 9,811,747 shares of Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), valued at $1.07 billion. The holding represents 0.83% of the total portfolio and 0.18% of the iPhone maker’s outstanding shares. Smaller holdings indicate a purchase by co-portfolio managers Ted Weschler or Todd Combs, Buffett has said in the past.

Apple’s share price has tumbled 28% in the past year, with a high-low range around $133 to $89 per share. Its average price in the first quarter was $100 per share. Apple also has a P/E of 10.4.

Berkshire Hathaway’s second largest change was to increase its holding of both classes of shares of Liberty Media Corp. and Liberty Global Plc.

Buffett raised his stake in Phillips 66 by 23% to 5.1% of the company. The oil refiner’s stake has dipped 5.5% year to date and traded for an average price of $81 for the first quarter.

Buffett’s next largest moves were to add to positions in Visa Inc. (NYSE:V), Bank of New York Mellon (NYSE:BK), Deere & Co. (NYSE:DE), Charter Communications (NASDAQ:CHTR) and IBM (NYSE:IBM).

Buffett sold out of AT&T (NYSE:T) and sold 99.4% of its stake in Procter & Gamble (NYSE:PG).

They headline is a little misleading. "Buffett" did not buy apple stock. Two of his managers, whom he is delegating more and more investing, made the purchase fo Berkshire.

Cokeefe, the headline doesn't say that Buffett bought Apple stock - it says that "Buffett's Berkshire Buys..", which is accurate.
