U.S. stock market indexes were mixed in early premarket trading. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 45 points to 22,166. The Standard & Poor's 500 index futures lost 3 points to 2,491, and futures for the Nasdaq 100 index declined 7 points to 5,963. The dollar index is down by 0.27% to 91.81 while the U.S. 10-year bond yields 2.204% and the German 10-year bond 0.438%.

North Korea fired a missile over Japan, landing in the sea off Hokkaido. This was the second test since Aug. 29.

Oracle (ORCL, Financial) shares lost ground by more than 3.4% in Friday premarket trading after the company reported its financial results for the first fiscal quarter. The company posted adjusted EPS of 62 cents, beating expectations by 2 cents. Revenue of $9.21 billion beat the consensus estimate by $180 million and grew 7.0% from the year-ago quarter.

By segments, cloud plus on-premise software revenues were up 9% to $7.4 billion. Cloud Software-as-a-Service revenues were up 62% to $1.1 billion. Cloud platform as a service plus infrastructure as a service revenues were up 28% to $400 million. Total Cloud revenues were up 51% to $1.5 billion. Further, GAAP operating income was up 7% to $2.8 billion, and operating margin reached 31%. These figures were lower than the non-GAAP operating income, which was up 11% to $3.8 billion and non-GAAP operating margin of 41%.

Moreover, the board of directors has declared a quarterly cash dividend of 19 cents per share. This gives a dividend yield of 1.44% at current market price.

The main European stock markets traded lower. The FTSE 100, the French CAC 40, the German DAX and the IBEX 35 were down.

In Asia, markets closed in the green. Japan's Nikkei Index, Hong Kong's Hang Seng and India's Sensex were up by 0.52%, 0.11% and 0.10% while China's Shanghai Composite lost 0.53%.
