It is now time for us to announce the winners of the GuruFocus 2017 Portfolio Contest. The winning portfolios are determined by the performance of the contest stocks relative to the S&P 500 from the day the portfolio was created. The performance cutoff date was January 31, 2018. We now have the winners.
The winners for the 2017 contest are Nelson Hsu, hugobarb and FinancialDave. These users gained more than 75% with their picks and beat the S&P 500 by more than 35% over the course of a year. The first-place winner gets $1,000, and the second and third-place winners get $500 each. Their bigger gains were a result of the stocks they picked. Congratulations!

If you would like to be paid by PayPal, please give us the email address of your PayPal account. We will also need you to fill out a W-9 form if you are a U.S. resident and W-8 if you are a non-U.S. resident.
Some of the better-performing portfolios were disqualified because they did not satisfy one or both of two requirements: Each contest portfolio needs to have at least three stocks. These stocks should have at least an initial stock price of higher than $1.
