US Market Indexes Mixed With Further Increases in Treasury Yields

U.S. market indexes were mixed on Wednesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 24,083.83 for a gain of 59.70 points or 0.25%. The S&P 500 closed at 2,639.40 for a gain of 4.84 points or 0.18%. The Nasdaq Composite was lower at 7,003.74 for a loss of -3.61 points or -0.05%. The VIX Volatility Index was lower at 17.84 for a loss of -0.18 points or -1.00%.

Wednesday’s market movers

The 10-year Treasury note’s yield exceeded 3% on Wednesday, reaching its highest level since 2013. U.S. market indexes were mixed with losses in the Nasdaq. The real estate and financial sectors led losses while energy and materials led gains.
