IRVINE, Calif., June 25, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Identillect Technologies Corp. (the "Company" or "Identillect") (TSX-V:ID) (IDTLF, Financial) (Frankfurt:8ID), announces today a productive cybersecurity presentation and was showcased as a vender exhibit at the Arkansas Bar Annual Meeting. The goal was to educate lawyers throughout the state of Arkansas as to the vulnerabilities of cybercrime and the ethical obligation to preserve electronic client confidentiality. Additionally, Identillect exhibited in the vender hall providing information about Delivery Trust®, the best security product for lawyers to protect their confidential client information.
Identillect believes there will be significant growth from the education provided at the Arkansas Bar lecture and exhibit hall. Kandice Bell, a member of the Arkansas Board of Governors states, “If you want to sit front row to a cutting-edge cyber-security lecture, please join the best in the industry-Identillect CEO Todd Sexton! Members of the Arkansas Bar Association have partnered with Identillect to provide clients, colleagues and business partners with more secure emails and documents. I decided it was high time for me to stop losing sleep or feeling regret after hitting the send key. With Identillect, I will reduce or eliminate the cyber security blues in my business!”
Identillect will continue advancing its campaign to service Bar Associations throughout the United States to provide education and the tools necessary to secure sensitive legal communication. The campaign is already a success, with multiple bar associations already in contact with Identillect to address their cyber security needs, and additional Bars are interested due to the success at the Arkansas Annual Meeting. There are twenty-eight state Bars which have adopted language mandating that the duty of competency in representation extends to technological competence. “To maintain the requisite knowledge and skill, a lawyer should keep abreast of changes in the law and its practice, including the benefits and risks associated with relevant technology, engage in continuing study and education and comply with all continuing legal education requirements.”
Brian Rosenthal, Co-Chairman of the Bar’s Member Benefits Committee stated, “We are grateful for Todd Sexton’s presentation which our members described as “practical” and “outstanding”. The Arkansas Bar Association continues to look for ways to ethically and economically advance its members’ practices and interests.”
Identillect CEO Todd Sexton states, “Identillect had a significant turnout for our cyber-security lecture with standing room only and attendees viewing from the hallway. The members were receptive to learning how they can protect client data and are interested in Identillect’s offering. We anticipate continued growth from the Arkansas Bar as well as other state Bars. The Arkansas Bar was an outstanding organization to work with and the board members had the highest level of professionalism and hospitality.”
In addition to law firms being motivated to increase security measures, clients are demanding cyber protection measures are taken as they must comply with their own industry regulations. “Clients are now seeking greater urgency in what law firms and in-house legal departments are doing to ensure they are protected from cyber-attack. Many lawyers fail to realize their sensitive information can be exposed to breach and intrusion particularly as there are increased breaches.” There is pressure from all sides for the legal community to advance security measures.
