Economic reports affecting market trading included the following:
- GDP reported a seasonally adjusted annual growth rate of 4.1% for the second quarter, below its consensus estimate of 4.2%.
- The University of Michigan’s Consumer Sentiment Index increased to 97.9 from 97.1.
- The Baker Hughes rig count increased to 1,271 from 1,257.
